The Lady Vols basketball team is heading down to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama for their first meeting this season.

Tennessee is riding a two-game win streak in which they took down Georgia in dominant fashion 95-73 on the road, then came home to Food City Center where they took down Missouri 80-69.

Star forward Rickea Jackson reached a significant career milestone in the Missouri win, eclipsing 2,000 career points. She entered the game needing 18 points to tie the mark, and after scoring her 19th point, she became just the eighth Lady Vol all-time to reach this achievement. The Lady Vols look to play spoiler this week at Coleman Coliseum as (18-6) Alabama is on a winning streak of their own. The Tide downed Kentucky at home 91-74 to end January, then hit the road with two big road wins over Arkansas 86-70 and then Vanderbilt 74-66. The trio of Sarah Ashlee Barker, Aaliyah Nye and Loyal McQueen has been on fire for Alabama; they accounted for 63 of the team’s 74 points in their last win over Vandy. Barker has been on a tear scoring 20 or more points over the past three games for the Tide.
