‘Why I resigned from Birmingham City today”Alex Dicken’s announced…

Jordan James rescued a point in the 95th minute for Birmingham City against Swansea in Tony Mowbray’s first match in charge.

The Wales international struck late after coming on as a substitute to ensure Blues didn’t end Mowbray’s debut empty-handed. Blues had to twice come from behind against the Swans.

Harry Darling and Jamal Lowe scored either side of half-time to cancel out Siriki Dembele’s equaliser. But Blues had the last laugh as substitute James fired home from distance in stoppage time.

Blues were full of energy and enthusiasm from kick-off. There were elements of quality to their play, with a desire to press high and force Swansea into errors at the back. The returning Scott Hogan so nearly profited from lax playing out by Swans goalkeeper Carl Rushworth in the opening five minutes.

The first chance of the game fell to Koji Miyoshi after a raking pass from Dion Sanderson and dynamic wing play from Dembele. Miyoshi controlled the ball and dragged a shot wide that really should have worked or even beat Rushworth
