NCAA send 2 worlds heart breaking massage to Michigan today another heavy set back…..

After Sherrone Moore’s introductory press conference, the new Michigan football coach spoke with The Michigan Insider and other reporters about his new role.

Below are some quick takeaways from that conversation. More in-depth coverage will follow

Sherrone Moore hopes Michigan will now have two pipelines to (and from) the NFL. He expects the Los Angeles Chargers will join the Baltimore Ravens as Michigan adjacent organizations. His relationship with Jim Harbaugh will continue, and Harbaugh will be invited to return to Ann Arbor as an honorary captain this fall.

Moore said he is “very” encouraged that he will be able to retain Ben Herbert. TMI spoke to others within the organization who confirmed Michigan is optimistic it will keep the strength and conditioning coach. Lead nutritionist Abigail O’Connor, who works in conjunction with Herbert, said independently that she hopes to stay in Ann Arbor.

In terms of player retention, Sherrone Moore said: “Plan to retain most of them. … And I think we will.” He met with a lot of them already as he transitions into the head coaching role.

Moore says one of his priorities is to “attack” NIL and those are some the earlier conversations he’s having as head coach. In terms of recruiting as a whole, “I want to take that to another level” compared to recruiting efforts under Jim Harbaugh.

Moore says he heard from Adam Schefter, Desmond Howard, Aidan Hutchinson, Rich Eisen, Taylor Lewan and many other Michigan alumni after getting the job. He said the support from Jim Harbaugh and players meant “everything” to him.
