Roman Wilso announcement that he is leaving Michigan now another significant issue for team…..

Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, he announced on social media on Sunday afternoon.

The announcement comes following Michigan’s national championship victory over Washington on Monday. Wilson spent four seasons at Michigan.

In his collegiate career, Wilson recorded 1,707 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns. He had a breakout year in his final year with the Wolverines, recording 789 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He was Michigan’s leading receiver this season and had the second-most touchdowns in the Big Ten, only behind Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr.

Wilson was integral part of Michigan’s College Football Playoff title run. In the Wolverines’ semifinal matchup against Alabama, Wilson had 73 yards and a touchdown in the overtime win before collecting 54 yards in the National Championship game against Washington.

His departure follows shortly after quarterback JJ McCarthy announced that he will forgo his senior season and declare for the NFL Draft. McCarthy had 2,991 yards and 22 touchdowns this season and is listed as the No. 99 player on Bleacher Report’s 2024 NFL Draft Big Board. He is the No. 7 quarterback on the list.

Another big part of Michigan’s offense, running back Blake Corum, is also departing for the draft. Corum had 1,245 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns this season and is the No. 7 running back on Bleacher Report’s 2024 NFL Draft Big Board.

With three huge offensive contributors leaving, Michigan certainly has its work cut out for it in replacing their talent.
