Abdallah Sima announcement that he is leaving the Rangers now another significant issue for the Team…

Losing Danilo for the foreseeable future is a painful loss for Philippe Clement and Rangers, just as the Brazilian had established himself as first choice number nine.
The 24-year old striker was going through a dry spell but was still contributing to the team and the Gers boss will be cursing his luck once again with an injury list that has him operating with one hand tied behind his back.
Until the January transfer window opens, there is little that Philippe Clement and Rangers can do to replace Danilo and even then, it won’t be easy so, what options does he have.
Normally, as in the case of Ross McCausland, when a squad is down to its bare bones, you promote from within and look to the academy.
Those of a certain age will remember when you could just go out and sign someone but those are long since past.
Unfortunately, Robbie Ure has left and Zak Lovelace is also injured, with the others, like Josh Gentles, nowhere near ready to step up.
Philippe Clement is down to Cyriel Dessers and Kemar Roofe as his main Rangers striking options but we know the latter’s history for not staying fit so, who else could he turn to
He takes up good positions, has decent feet, is over 6ft tall, and on paper would be a good fit but five big chances missed this season tells you why it isn’t a good idea.
This would be a great course of action if there were any available but, there is a reason why strikers aren’t attached to clubs at this time of the season and, other than Alfredo Morelos who might be available, anything else would be a waste of money.
Philippe Clement has had to be flexible and think on his toes since joining Rangers, hopefully, between now and January he can continue to get things right and that Nils Koppen has a list of names ready to go for when the bells strike midnight on the 31st.
