Team Update: Cowboys Bench $57 Million Starter for Player on the Rise, Says Insider…..

Following his inability to resume his prior level of output, Michael Gallup seems to be dropping down the Dallas Cowboys depth chart. Jalen Tolbert, a second-year wide out, is getting snaps as the team’s third wideout ahead of Gallup, according to the most recent Cowboys news. This modification occurred in Week 13 against the Seahawks, as ESPN’s Ed Werder noted.
“Tolbert began against the Seahawks in a three-receiver formation, with Gallup entering the game afterward,” Werder posted on December 3, 2023, on X (previously known as Twitter). Tolbert is a young athlete who is rapidly developing; it is evident that MG has not been the same player since the injury. Cowboys believed MG would produce at half the cost of Amari.
It is important to note that Gallup is still earning playing time within the offense. Gallup’s 46% of offensive snaps remains more than Tolbert’s 36% and KaVontae Turpin’s 15%. Tolbert’s 37% did top Gallup’s 33% of snaps against the Commanders in Week 12.
A portion of this information stems from the fact that Dallas is now rotating players among three receiver groupings rather than having Gallup occupy the position exclusively. As the postseason draws closer, CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks have established themselves as the team’s top two wide receivers.
