Injury update: He might not play again WR Bru McCoy face’s bone surgery…..

Tennessee Vols wide receiver Bru McCoy, who announced earlier this season that he’s returning to UT in 2024, is spending most of his offseason recovering from the injury that prematurely ended his 2023 season.

McCoy suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle in the Vols’ win against South Carolina on September 30. The injury required surgery.

The California native is expected to miss spring practice while he continues his recovery. But he’s hoping to be a full-go for fall camp.

A lot of the concern we can say is behind,” said McCoy. “Now it’s just ok, where can we get from here? How much can we improve? And how little steps back can we take? Fortunately, to this point, there’s been no steps back and really big steps forward. We’ll be in a really good spot come this fall.

When it comes to fall, McCoy expects to be ready to go, which is obviously a good sign for his health at the start of the 2024 season.

“Yeah, absolutely,” said McCoy when asked by host Dave Hooker if he’ll be a full go when fall camp starts. “The way things are trending — I don’t want to say 100 percent positive. But I’m confident, if I continue doing the things I’ve been doing and nothing goes way left, I’ll be 100 percent healthy
