The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers will both be going into the 2024 season with Championship aspirations. The Packers will be looking to build on their success in 2023 while the Jets will be looking to get their four-time MVP quarterback on the field all season long.
However, there is one former teammate that refuses to play for the Jets or with Aaron Rodgers again.
As he enters free agency this offseason, Mecole Hardman isn’t quite sure what’s in store for him, but one thing is clear: he isn’t going back to New York.
After the Kansas City Chiefs allowed Mecole Hardman to leave in free agency last year, he signed with the Jets on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million, with nearly $3.6 million guaranteed. Jets fans were disappointed with the season, and it’s hard to tell whether Hardman played a role in those sentiments or not.
Obviously, Rodgers’ Achilles injury derailed their season from the start, however, the Jets didn’t get much help from the rest of their team all season long. Hardman doesn’t want any part of trying to make it work again:
Rodgers and the Jets will still have a few quality wide receivers to work with for the upcoming season. Garrett Wilson is their bonafide number one. However, Allen Lazard may return to his old form with Rodgers coming back.
