sad news: Why Pittsburgh Steelers Must Chase Justin Fields Over…

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked with a number of quarterbacks this offseason, from Justin Fields, Russell Wilson to Kirk Cousins. While it remains to be seen which QB they will target, former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum emphasized that it shouldn’t be a debate.

For the ex-New York Jets general manager, Justin Fields is the only logical choice for the Steelers.
As Tannenbaum argued, Fields could be a QB that the Steelers build around on should he win over Pickett.
“If I’m Mike Tomlin, I’m looking at the longer-term view of things and as you said multiple times on the air, Justin Fields is younger than Kenny Pickett. You can get him for two years, roughly $28 million,” Tannenbaum said when asked who should the Steelers pick if both Fields and Cousins are available.
Fields could certainly use a change of scenery after three years of inconsistency and struggles with the Bears. Playing in an established program like the Steelers under an amazing coach in Tomlin is exactly what he needs in order to revitalize his career.
For the Steelers, they get a high-upside 24-year-old QB who could develop into an elite signal-caller in the right situation.
