Kevin van Veen set to join Kilmarnock after St Mirren transfer battle as Derek McInnes lands striker….

Kilmarnock have won the race to sign Kevin van Veen ahead of St Mirren, Football Scotland understands.
The Dutchman, 32, had been offered a deal by St Mirren as well as Killie for a loan until the end of the season. That left the decision up to the player and he has now opted to make the move to Rugby Park. Van Veen had a lot of admirers as Groningen made him available and several Premiership clubs were keen.
It’s been claimed that Motherwell considered moving for their former hitman – who was prolific at Fir Park – but they were “blown out the water” financially by their Premiership counterparts.
