Armando Bacot announcement that he is leaving TAR Heels now another significant issue for team…..

Armando Bacot spoke eloquently in a moving 89-second video posted online Wednesday, the North Carolina standout power forward appreciating the rewarding path his college basketball career has taken, the many meaningful experiences he has gained, and the decorated status he has come to hold in the pages of the proud program’s history.

But he needed just two simple words to clarify his plans for next season.

“I’m back,” he said Wednesday in a straight-to-the-point statement distributed by the Tar Heels, with the news release adding that his decision was reached after careful consideration and a great deal of introspection on the subject of his future.

Bacot’s signature appeared at the bottom, centered beneath his succinct two-word comment, stamping his return for his senior season as official.

Nine days after North Carolina’s magical Final Four run came up painfully short of national title glory in losing to Kansas in the NCAA final, the dominant big man said he’s back on board for another championship chase with coach Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels.

This year’s experience showed me that I do not want to miss the chance to do it again next season,” he said in the video. “On the court, we got so close this year. I know there are no guarantees, but I want the opportunity to play in those big games, to keep Carolina on that national stage, and to have the chance to do what Coach Davis has talked about since his first day on the job — put another banner in the Smith Center.
