BBC Report: Motherwell Van Veen banned and face £300m fine after scoring Scottish Premiership against Dundee….

Former Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen has returned to Scotland for an “indefinite period” to assist his heavily pregnant girlfriend, his current club FC Groningen have announced.

Van Veen’s partner still lives in Scotland and is expecting the couple’s first child.

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell said last week that he “would love” to bring Kevin van Veen back to the club, but that it would ultimately come down to money.

“The intention was to induce labour last Tuesday, but we decided against that at the last minute,” Van Veen said, in a statement on Groningen’s website.

“In the last phase of a pregnancy it is important to be close to each other. I am grateful to FC Groningen that the club gives me all the time and space to be with my girlfriend and the birth and I am really looking forward to the moment when we can hold our daughter in our arms.
