Former Arkansas star Daniel Gafford has been traded to his third team since being drafted in 2019. Dallas hopes to strengthen its frontcourt, which blocks only 4.6 shots per game, No. 26 in the NBA. The Mavericks allow over 53 points per game in the paint, one of the highest in the league.

Gafford was in the middle of a breakout season with the Washington Wizards. The El Dorado native is averaging 10.9 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 69% overall.

A move to Dallas, closer to home, will give Gafford an opportunity to play with two of the best guards in the league in Luke Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks will have a true inside out game on both ends of the court. Known as “The Landlord”, Gafford is a top rebounder and shot blocker due to his underrated explosiveness.

During his sophomore season with the Razorbacks, Gafford posted 16.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. He was named to the 2019 SEC All-Defensive Team, as well as a 1st Team All-SEC pick. Plus, many insane dunks making ESPN’s Top Ten plays regularly.

Another former Hog and NBA veteran Patrick Beverley has been traded to Milwaukee from Philadelphia. Beverley will join another former Razorback, Bobby Portis.

The 35-year old is in his 12th season in the league. He is still posting solid numbers despite his age with 19.6 minutes per game, he’s averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.4 blocks with the 76ers while shooting 43.2% from the floor and 32.1% from 3-point distance.
