Former Tennessee Vols standout receives new NFL contract before hitting free agency…..

Former Tennessee Vols defensive back Emmanuel Moseley won’t be an NFL free agent when the new league year begins later this month.
Moseley, who signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions last offseason, agreed to a new one-year deal with Detroit on Tuesday.
Moseley’s had some brutal luck over the last two seasons.
In week five of the 2022 season, Moseley, then with the San Francisco 49ers, tore his ACL, ending his season.
The Greensboro, NC native suffered a second torn ACL in 2023 during his season-debut with the Lions (also in Week five), ending his season early for a second straight year.
Moseley, who played at Tennessee from 2014 to 2017, must have made a great impression in Detroit — despite barely playing for the Lions last season due to the ACL injury. The Lions clearly didn’t want to let Moseley reach free agency.
Detroit, by the way, is home to several former Vols. Former Tennessee standouts Hendon Hooker, Cam Sutton, and Jalen Reeves-Mayin are also on the Lions’ roster.
