Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava carries massive expectations heading into his first season as the starter, especially considering the NCAA investigation surrounding his recruitment. His highs at Tennessee have been very high, but we’ve had a limited sample of what he will be at the college level.
That hasn’t stopped many from jumping on the Iamaleava bandwagon heading into next season. CBS Sports writer Tom Fornelli weighed in on how the Vols could fare next season against a reasonable schedule with the California native running the show. Fornelli forecasted that Tennessee has the potential to achieve the highs they reached during the 2022 season, one of the most special years the University of Tennessee has had in the football program this century. There’s a lot of potential with Iamaleava manning the helm, and it’ll be interesting to see how things progress.
