Sad News: QB Aidan O’Connell Rejects new deal Offer from Raiders Insists on leaving……

There was lots of optimism in the 2023 NFL offseason for the Las Vegas Raiders about who would be the starting quarterback.

This season for the Raiders featured three quarterbacks who had the chance to start, including Jimmy Garoppolo, rookie Aidan O’Connell and Brian Hoyer.

Groppolo entered the 2023-24 NFL regular season as the starting quarterback for the Silver and Black. He finished the season with a Pro Football Focus grade of 65.0, a passing grade of 65.0, and a running grade of 58.8.

In his first season with the Raiders, Garoppolo finished with a passer rating 77.7 with 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions in eight games.

After the 26-14 loss to the Detroit Lions, the Raiders made many decisions, including a change in the starting quarterback position and O’Connell took over as the starter for the remainder of the season.

O’Connell finished the season with a Pro Football Focus grade of 65.9, a pass grade of 64.6, and a run grade of 61.6. In his rookie season with the Silver and Black, O’Connell finished with a passer rating of 83.9 with 2,218 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 12 games.
