USA men’s field hockey hopes to form a centralised programme in Charlotte, North Carolina after the Paris Games and leading up to the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. “Two, three years will be too late for us,” said US coach Harendra Singh.
Both USA men and women sides have competed in the Hockey5s World Cup, with the former sending a strong side and the women having played with a second string squad following the success of the 11-a-side team reaching Paris 2024.
The US men last competed at the hockey at Atlanta 1996 while they will compete as hosts in under five years time in LA. In Muscat, they fell short of the quarter-finals after being beaten by hosts Oman.
