Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was considered a prime candidate to land one of the open head coaching positions, following the conclusion of the 2023 season.

After reportedly making an effort to fly to Detroit, Johnson surprisingly informed officials from Washington he had a desire to remain in Detroit.
Several players have expressed the feeling of “unfinished business” after the team was defeated by the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
