Another nightmare: Liam Cooper has today announce his January exit from Leeds United…

With Cooper’s contract expiring at the end of the season, a loan move this month would all but bring his time at Leeds to an end, much in the same way Luke Ayling’s exit did. Neither are expected to be offered new deals.
As mentioned, the only way in which a departure would be sanctioned for Cooper is if someone comes in, and a new name to add to the list of targets today is Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall.
According to Alan Nixon, Leeds are interested in signing Worrall but will face competition from Sheffield United, with Forest set to command £6 million for the 27-year-old.
Neither Leeds or Sheffield United are prepared to meet that asking price, but may be able to sign him on loan right ‘at the death’.
If Cooper is to move on, it would leave a serious leadership hole in the dressing room at Leeds. He has been the perfect captain for the club both on and off the pitch for several years now.
