Worst nightmare as Jim Harbaugh send a warning massage to Sherrone Moore over….

If Michigan elects to promote from within to replace Jim Harbaugh, it could happen in a matter of days.

Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is the frontrunner to become the Wolverines’ next head coach, sources inside Michigan say, and school officials can speed up the hiring process by going directly to the human resources department.

University policy stipulates that all full-time job postings must be published for a minimum of seven calendar days before they are filled, but individual departments can seek out a waiver to help shorten the timeline if there’s proof that “legitimate business needs of the unit outweigh the University’s intent to provide notice of employment opportunities to the University community and others through the posting process.

Expect Michigan to do that. No job opening has been posted as of Thursday morning, suggesting an expedited route is the likely route here. Speed is of the essence for the Wolverines and their athletic director Warde Manuel, who said in a statement Wednesday evening — shortly after Harbaugh agreed to become the head coach of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers — that he would be “working quickly to hire the next head coach of the program” and would “do everything possible to keep this current staff and team together.”
