Worst nightmare as Alan Pace send a warning Massage to Vincent Company…

OkBurnley chairman Alan Pace seemingly revealed details behind the hiring process of the club’s new manager before hiring Vincent Kompany.

Pace has been chairman of the Clarets since the takeover of the club was completed in December 2020. And there was plenty of work that needed to be completed behind the scenes following the conclusion of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Burnley were relegated from the top flight for the first time since 2015, and there was also the need for a new manager. Sean Dyche had been sacked in April 2022 after being the manager of the club for a decade.

As a result, Pace and the Burnley hierarchy needed to appoint a new manager. In the end, it was decided that former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany would be hired for what would be his first senior managerial role in England, leaving his role at Belgian club Anderlecht in the process.

However, Sky’s new documentary ‘Mission to Burnley’ has provided some behind-the-scenes footage from the process of hiring a new manager. And in episode one it is revealed that the club may have gone down a different route.

It was revealed that Pace had spoken to two other candidates about the managerial vacancy at Burnley, along with Kompany. However, both names mentioned are bleeped out in the programme to protect their identities, due to both apparently being employed by other clubs at the time.

Burnley would go on to secure promotion to the Premier League in Kompany’s first year in charge of the club. The Clarets won the Championship title and earned promotion to the top flight alongside Sheffield United and Luton Town.
