£3.4m Rangers signing proud amid Ibrox transfer claims….

Rangers have been linked with a left-back on an almost daily basis with Ridvan Yilmaz seemingly certain to leave the club.

The 22-year old Turkey international has never fully settled at Ibrox, however, since breaking into Gers boss Philippe Clement’s plans at the end of 2023, he has become a key member of his squad.

But, after Rangers convincing win over Hibernian, Ridvan Yilmaz gave the impression of a player who has no intention of going anyway.

Yes, he isn’t the tallest, but with the pace that he has and the attacking intent, does he need to be?

We are finally seeing the sort of consistency and quality that we expected from a player who cost an initial £3.4m.

And it is clear that Ridvan isn’t in a hurry to leave when you look at his post-match post on X.

But for a John Lundstram masterclass, Ridvan would have collected another man of the match award against Hibs.

Speaking to Rangers TV after the game, he certainly doesn’t look like a player trying to force a move away:

‘To be honest, after the game I feel very happy.

“Before the game, Scott Wright told me ‘you’re going to make a score today

There is a pace and intensity to Ridvan’s game that is perfect for what Clement wants to achieve.

A happy, fit and on-form Ridvan Yilmaz is a huge asset, Rangers know this, hence the reason there is a £5m price-tag on his head for any potential suitors.

He joins an ever growing list of players that Philippe Clement has not only managed to get a tune out of, but adapt and improve.

Selling Ridvan just doesn’t make sense.
