Young duo return to Norwich following League Two loan spells…

Adegboyega’s switch to Walsall was confirmed by the Canaries on Thursday afternoon, with Scottish keeper Mair, who was a Wembley penalty-saving hero last season at Notts County, swapping National League Gateshead for Morecambe.

The likes of Brad Hills and Lewis Shipley are featuring regularly in the fourth tier at Accrington Stanley, with Jonathan Tomkinson now starting games at Bradford.

Fellow academy graduate Abu Kamara has emerged as key figure in Portsmouth’s League One promotion push, during a season-long move to the south-coast.

Football League exposure for the club’s emerging talent is believed to be a key plank of new sporting director Ben Knapper’s January strategy.

Knapper made it clear at November’s annual meeting lowering the age profile of David Wagner’s squad is a priority, with City’s best young prospects looking to push their claims for first team involvement next season.

Mair joined Norwich from Aberdeen in his teens and has had a series of loan moves since he headed south, headlined by saving two penalties in County’s National League play-off final win last summer.

The Scot is out of contract at the end of the season, but Norwich retain a further one year option.

Adegboyega signed from League of Ireland club Drogheda at the start of the current season, and the defender has been a regular in Alan Neilson’s under-21s set up.

Fellow centre back Jaden Warner has been tipped for a loan exit to Notts County, but that potential switch may now be in doubt County boss Luke Williams joined Championship club Swansea City.

Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Tony Springett is also likely to depart on loan this month, after finishing last season at League One Derby County.
