Norwich winger Announced Is Retirement….

The Scotland international made his decision public via his social media channels, having departed Heart of Midlothian in the summer and not played a minute of football since.

Snodgrass started his career at Scottish club Livingston before earning a move to Leeds United in 2008. After a four-year stint at Elland Road, where he played 191 games and scored 41 goals, he joined Norwich.

Chris Hughton completed the move despite talks for the winger beginning under Paul Lambert, who worked with Snodgrass at Livingston, before his exit to Aston Villa.

Snodgrass played a pivotal role in helping keep Norwich in the Premier League in his first season at the club.

He spent two seasons at Carrow Road between 2012 and 2014, making 74 appearances and scoring 14 goals. Snodgrass won the Player of the Season award in his final season in Norfolk before completing a £6million move to Hull after City’s relegation from the top-flight.

Snodgrass went on to represent Aston Villa, West Ham, West Brom and Luton before heading back to Scotland to join Hearts last season.

During his career, Snodgrass made 28 appearances for Scotland and ended his international career with seven goals.

Snodgrass will continue to weigh up his options, having already had offers to transition into coaching since his departure from Tynecastle nine months ago.

Confirming his retirement officially via his social media channels, Snodgrass reflected on his 20-year career with pride.

“A little lad from the east end of Glasgow got to live his childhood dream for 20 years,” Snodgrass wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Playing at 10 great clubs, getting to represent my country, playing over 600 games, scoring over 100 goals and [providing] over 100 assists is something I would have never imagined doing.

“Thank you to my team mates and coaches. Lastly, a huge thank you to the supporters who drove me forward and supported me through good and bad times.

“I will miss this beautiful game, but after the last six months it’s time to give my knowledge and help to the next generation.”
