An Unfortunate Series Of Events  For Norwich….

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping an eye on the progress of Norwich winger Jonathan Rowe, football.london understands.

The 20-year-old winger made 13 appearances from the bench in the Premier League as a teenager but after returning to the youth set-up last year, this season has seen him really break through into the Canaries’ team in the Championship.

Rowe, who can play on either flank or in a central attacking midfield role, has scored 12 goals and provided three assists across 28 games so far.

At the start of the campaign he went on a remarkable run of scoring in five consecutive matches but his goal against Hull in a 2-1 win on Friday night was up there with his best.

The young winger won the ball just inside the Hull half and embarked on a jinking run through the centre of the pitch, first moving right and then drifting back left with opposition players clustered around him before he struck a pinpoint shot while falling with the outside of his right foot inside the left-hand post.

Rowe has played on both wings and through the middle this season for the 11th-placed Canaries and Tottenham are understood to be among the Premier League clubs looking at the England Under-21s international as they seek to add more young talent to Ange Postecoglou’s options for the present and future. They have watched Rowe in action but are yet to make any move for the player.

It is still unclear whether the talented winger will move in mid-season or whether a summer transfer is more likely as Norwich sit just two points off the play-off spots. There will be a queue of clubs lining up for his services if a deal is there to be done.
