Rangers agree new Sky Sports deal that unlocks two key benefits for Ibrox club…..

Rangers and Sky Sports have struck a direct TV deal that will allow the broadcasters to show an extra live Scottish Premiership fixture from Ibrox this season. And the innovative move will also allow Gers to screen two additional home matches on pay-per-view.
As the SPFL’s exclusive broadcasters, Sky’s current contract with the league limits them to just four visits to each top-flight ground per season. But according to the Rangers Review, the company’s camera will be granted access to Ibrox for an additional game in what is a win-win agreement for both parties.
Sky have already screened the first Old Firm derby of the season back in September, while Celtic’s return visit to Govan in April has also been selected for TV. The visit of Aberdeen will also be beamed live to subscribers on February 6 which had restricted Sky to just one more home match
But in a ground-breaking behind-the-scenes move by Ibrox chief executive James Bisgrove and commercial director Karim Virani, Sky now have an extra slot to choose from as we approach the business end of the season. In return, Rangers will be able to live stream two additional matches to fans across the world from their official club channel.
