Breaking News: These hasty decision breaks out l…

Decision day is looming for four-star defensive end Christopher Burgess Jr. and he’s down to four schools: the Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Michigan football.
“They’re the ones recruiting me the hardest, coming to see me during the open periods,” Burgess said. “Those are the main four schools coming up to see me,” Burgess said about why he’s whittled down his list featuring the mentioned programs (h/t Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports).
Michigan football is just one of 33 schools that extended an offer to the Chicago Simeon standout, including the likes of Colorado Buffaloes, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan State Spartans, Ole Miss Rebels, Texas A&M Aggies, and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The Wolverines will be hoping that Burgess will pick them on January 6, 2024 — the date that the defensive end is expected to reveal his decision. It is also the same date that Burgess will be playing at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio. With so many schools showing serious interest in Burgess, Michigan football must be feeling good about its chances to win his commitment.
Should Burgess end up choosing to go to Ann Arbor, he will be joining a Michigan defense that ranked No. 1 in the 2023 college football season in scoring defense which allowed only 9.5 points per game.
At the moment, the Wolverines, who are in the middle of their preparation for the upcoming College Football Playoff semifinals game at the Rose Bowl versus the Alabama Crimson Tide, have a total of 27 commits for the 2024 campaign consisting of 18 four-stars and nine three-stars.
