Jaylen Wright announcement that he is leaving the Vol now another significant issue for the Team……

On Friday, On3 released their top 25 running back rankings entering Week 6 of the 2023 college football season.
And they have Tennessee Vols running back Jaylen Wright ranked at No. 13.
The only SEC running back ranked higher than Wright is Kentucky’s Ray Davis, a Vanderbilt transfer who landed with the Wildcats ahead of the 2023 season.
Wright has totaled 435 rushing yards and one touchdown this season. He’s also caught 10 passes for 58 yards.
The Durham, NC native is on pace to rush for 1,131 yards this season (13 games), which would be the highest total for a Tennessee running back since Jalen Hurd rushed for 1,288 yards in 2015.
Wright would have better numbers this season, but he’s sharing carries with an extremely talented backfield that includes Jabari Small and Dylan Sampson (both Small and Sampson could also be in the top 25 if not for splitting carries).
A year after wowing the nation with a potent passing attack that had very few “off nights” last season, the Vols are showing they can be equally explosive in the run game. Tennessee has rushed for 1,156 rushing yards so far this season, which is the most in the SEC by nearly 150 yards (Auburn is the next closest).
