3 West Brom Key players who  sign contract agreement elsewhere…

The Baggies have had their fortunes transformed since the arrival of Carlos Corberan last October, with the Spaniard taking the Black Country from the foot of the second tier table to play-off contention last campaign.

Albion continue to fight towards the top end of the division this term under the former Huddersfield Town coach, with the West Brom supporters dreaming of top-flight football once again despite concerning off-field issues.

The West Midlands side find themselves in a precarious financial situation due to a lack of investment from controlling shareholder Guochuan Lai, and the club had to prioritise outgoings in the summer transfer window to raise funds after taking out a £20 million loan from MSD Holdings, with additional funds secured from the American-based company in November.

With nine departures from The Hawthorns balancing the books to a certain degree, more are set to follow with a host of players coming towards the end of their contracts next summer.

Here at Football League World, we list the Albion players who are set to enter the final six months of their current deals and could therefore negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club during the January transfer window.

First up is central midfielder Chalobah, who signed for the Baggies back on deadline day of the January transfer window in 2023.

The 29-year-old went on to feature 13 times during Corberan’s revival last term as Albion narrowly missed out on a place in the top six.

Chalobah and the Albion faithful have not seen eye-to-eye since his arrival, with the former having to apologise on social media after getting into an altercation with a fan, so it remains to be seen whether the midfielder will remain at The Hawthorns for the foreseeable future.

During the summer transfer window, the former Chelsea man was close to sealing a permanent transfer to Israel outfit Maccabi Haifa, but the move collapsed due to Chalobah’s concerns over his safety in the country.
