Nick Saban finally announcement that he is leaving the Alabama now another significant issue for the Team……

The University of Alabama’s recently announced contract with Nick Saban doesn’t just re-establish him as the nation’s highest-paid college sports coach. It also increases the amount of incentive bonus money he can receive each year.
Saban will now be able to reach $1.1 million in incentives, up from $700,000, according to an eight-year agreement that was released Friday after the university board of trustees’ compensation committee formally approved it.
The contract, like many new deals in college sports, also includes language that specifically requires Saban to report knowledge of suspicion of sexual misconduct to the university’s Title IX oversight officials.
Saban’s basic annual compensation for the 2018 season is increasing to $7.5 million, and he is getting another $800,000 from what the university is terming a “contract extension/championship signing incentive.” Under his previous terms, Saban had been set to make $7.125 million, including a $400,000 contract-year completion payment.
Saban’s basic annual compensation is set to increase by $400,000 each year, and he is scheduled to receive contract-year completions payments of $800,000 in each of the next three contract years.
In addition, the agreement maintains the parties’ arrangement for the buyout that Saban would be owed if he is fired without cause – he would get the basic annual compensation due for the 48 months immediately following a termination. But the pay increases mean that, at present, Saban’s buyout stands at roughly $33.2 million.
