BREAKING News: Seattle Seahawks Star Wide Receiver Hit with Lofty Fine for Week 14 Altercation

The Seattle Seahawks continue to feel the fallout of last Sunday’s divisional loss against the San Francisco 49ers . Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the league and Roger Goodell have fined Seahawks standout wide receiver DK Metcalf $19,123 for unsportsmanlike conduct in last Sunday’s defeat.

Metcalf received the early boot last Sunday for a scuffle with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner. Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock threw a late four-quarter interception to Warner, a pass intended for Metcalf. While Metcalf attempted to tackle the ball carrier, Warner pitched the ball to a fellow defender, yet the Seattle superstar still brought the 49ers standout down to the turf. Warner responded by shoving Metcalf into the ground, resulting in the wide receiver chasing down the second-level defender and grabbing him by the facemask. San Francisco defensive back Deommodore Lenoir also got ejected for intervening.

Metcalf has 51 receptions for 864 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He had two catches for 52 yards and a score before being ejected in Week 14. The Ole Miss product had a career-high 90 receptions last season. However, his six touchdowns were well under the 12 he scored in 2021. Metcalf is in his fifth NFL season, all with the Seattle Seahawks. Barring an injury or an unforeseen circumstance, Metcalf will eclipse 1,000 yards receiving for the third time in his career this season.
