Bradley Beal was punished today for violating an NBA regulations….

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal is not available due to a low back strain for the Suns’ In-Season Tournament quarterfinals against the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday at Crypto.com Arena.

Beal is on track with his recovery, per coach Frank Vogel. The 30-year-old has only played three games and has not appeared in a Suns uniform since their 111-99 loss at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder last month

No concern,” Vogel said following Monday’s practice at the Verizon 5G Performance Center. “We feel like he’s going to get back to full strength soon.”

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on FanDuel’s “Run It Back” Nov. 20 Beal suffered a “disc issue” in training camp.

Beal is expected to be re-evaluated this week and possibly Friday. The Suns provided an update on Beal’s injury Nov. 17 and said he would receive another update in three weeks.

“He’s making progress, but still no timetable,” Vogel said. “He’s out tomorrow (Tuesday against LA).”

Beal, who was traded to the Suns from the Washington Wizards this summer, is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists this season. Beal in 2020-21 competed for the NBA’s scoring title and averaged 31.3 points per game.

Beal has said this is the first back injury in his career, which has made the recovery process uncomfortable.
