The NFL said on Friday that wide receiver Michael Woods II of the Browns has been suspended for six games during the regular season for breaking the personal conduct rules of the organization. Browns selected Woods in the sixth round of the 2022 draft.
Due to an Achilles tendon damage sustained while training in April, Woods is listed as a reserve/non-football injury.
Woods’ ban was announced without explanation, and the Browns, via a spokesman, had nothing else to say about it
In ten games during his rookie campaign, Woods caught five catches for 45 yards.
After spending his one season at Oklahoma, where he caught 35 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns, the Browns selected him with the 202nd overall pick. He attended Arkansas for his first three seasons of college.
In 2018, Woods was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI during his freshman year at Arkansas. This charge was eventually upgraded to reckless driving conviction.
In an interview at training camp before his rookie season, he told Cleveland.com, “That showed me how quick you could lose everything you worked for.” It demonstrated to me why I was attending college. In addition to playing football, I was there to earn my degree in sports management. I wasn’t present.
