Here’s the mayor of Punterville.
It’s been a while since we’ve presented the condition of the punting union, but that changes today, citizens. We chat about punters today. We examine the receipts for our hero, Mitch Wishnowsky, today. It is now time for those who doubted Wishnowsky to recognize his greatness, as he is currently leading several categories.
Perhaps you recall a previous NFL draft in which the 49ers selected a punter with their fourth-round pick. Many people thought that was far too high to select a punter when they selected the player in the fourth round (ranked 110th overall).
It is indeed too high. Unless Mitch Wishnowsky is that punter. After that, it’s a deal. One may wonder, “Why did he fall so far?”
After making what seemed like an odd decision, Wishnowsky has had time to develop into a respectable draft choice. Andy Lee’s trade to the Cleveland Browns in order to choose Bradley Pinion in the fifth round is an odd move for a punter. But now Wishnowsky comes to mind, not Pinion or Lee.Not to mention that he did this in opposition to the Seattle Seahawks:
Take note that I’m just playing one video. Showing every video in which he has pinned them in their own redzone would be far too simple.
How talented is Wishnowsky then? Thirty-nine percent of his punt returns are inside the opponent’s five-yard line, while thirty-six percent end up inside the opponents’ 10-yard line. That is the highest. The punter in second place is at 23.3 percent and 8.7 percent, respectively, as ESPN’s Nick Wagoner notes.
Wishnowsky’s running is still something from his college footage that he hasn’t shown, even though that might propel him into a Pro Bowl this season. All we have to do is watch the 49ers run him about for a fake, exactly as they did against Utah. However, the 49ers are scoring scores on his punts, so that may not occur too soon.
Anyway, there’s no denying the awesomeness that is Mitch Wishnowsky, even though we can find another weak reason why Brock Purdy isn’t any good. People, update me on Punterville’s state:
